Olivia J Young, 98 of Memphis, TN passed away July 1, 2016 at Methodist University Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born December 28, 1917 in Star, Mississippi to the late Ed and Ruth Johnson and was educated at Thankful MB Church School in Minter City, Mississippi. She retired from Memphis City Schools July 1, 1980. Olivia enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by one loving son; Lensherry (Joyce) Young; six devoted daughters, Mattie B Sumerall, Earnestine (Cleveland) Johnson of Hollysprings, Mississippi, Lilliantyne Williams, Yvonne (DeShae) from Washington, DC, Barbara Young and Rosemerry (Jimmie Jr) Tucker and one special caregiver JoAnn Sullivan of Clarksdale, Mississippi; daughter in law Pearlie Mae Young; a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by three sons Aaron, Eugene and Leslie Young and two sisters Geneva Barr and Katie Stokes. She was a member of Union Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the mother board and was a pianist. A memorial service will be held July 7, 2016 at 3 p.m at Forest Hill Funeral Home, South, 2545 E Holmes Rd.
