Obituary

Southaven - OPAL L. STOKES, 80, a homemaker, passed away November 4, 2014. Mrs. Stokes taught children Sunday School for 57 years, was a member of Gideons Auxillary, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 7 and funeral services 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8 all at Forest Hill Funeral Home South. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stokes; parents, Molly and Ossie Long; sister, Lil Thompson and brothers, Monroe Long, DeWayne Long and Charlie Long. She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Geater (Paul) and son, William H. Stokes, Jr. (Anita); sisters, Earlene Whittle and Gracie Dunavent; grandchildren Heather Geater, Will Geater, Rachel Stokes,, and a great-grandson, Tyler Stover. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to Tennessee Baptist Children''s Home or Ministry of Boulevard Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Stokes.
