Weep not for me though I have gone into that gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet fight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest. There is no need for tears, for with your love I was so blessed for all those many years. Our loving mother slipped from our arms to enter forever peace on Saturday, February 03, 2018, surrounded by her family. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands 2 Corinthians 5:1.

Ora Mae Draine was born November 04, 1929, to the late Hillary and Effie Lee (Cobb) McIntyre in Hernando, Mississippi. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W. H. Mosby. She was a dedicated and faithful member and served on the Mother's board until her death. Ora was united in marriage to JD Draine who preceded her in death on July 22, 2000. Together they shared a 54-year marriage. This union was blessed with eleven children. Ora was employed by Memphis City Schools and retired after many years of service.

An amazing self-taught cook, she was well known for her homemade buttered biscuits, and desserts. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed taking long walks, quilting, and celebrating family events. Above all, she loved the Lord and lived a life that was marked by kindness, patience, and a generosity of spirit. She touched and positively influenced many lives. Ora will be especially remembered for her quiet nature and sly sense of humor. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Louis Draine, Indiana, a brother Isaiah McIntyre (Katherine), Tennessee, and a sister Birdie Lee Martin, Tennessee. Left to rejoice her home going are her children, Carolyn Allen (Larry), Oklahoma, Floyd Wayne Draine, Washington, Donald Ray Draine (Betty) Iowa, Jerry Draine, Sr. (Brenda), Tennessee, Vanessa Dale Malone, Tennessee, Maxine Allen (Rodney, deceased), Tennessee, Gaynell Jennings, Tennessee, Edward Earl Draine (Deanna), Missouri, Veronica Bogard (Lawren), Tennessee, Rita Faye Draine, Texas, and sister, Fannie Louis Webb, Tennessee, thirty grandchildren, and forty-five great-grandchildren. In addition, she will be remembered by her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

A wake will be held 6-8 pm, Friday, February 9, 2018 .  Funeral services will be 10 am, Saturday, February 10, 2018 .  Both at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, 8770 Highway 51 N, Southaven, MS.  The interment will follow at New Park Cemetery.    Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park-South (901) 346-3250
