ORA MAE MING STRICKLAND died October 22, 2012 at Rush Hospital. There will be a private family burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown in Memphis, TN on Friday, October 26. Mrs. Strickland, 99, was born on August 8, 1913 in Weir, Mississippi. Her parents were Thurman and Mildred Raburn Ming. Survivors include her son, James E. Strickland and his wife, Glenda; grandchildren, Jim Strickland and his wife, Nichole and Jamie Strickland Morphis and her husband, Jamie Morphis; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Elli Strickland and Bo and Hank Morphis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Frank Strickland. The family requests memorials be made to Russell Baptist Church or Russell Christian Academy.
