Pat Neal Alston, age 86, of Somerville, TN, formerly of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 14, 2024.

He was a God fearing man who put his faith out there publicly. He was a dedicated husband and father who put his family above everything else. He had multiple interests throughout the years from woodworking, yard and flowers, restoring and showing old cars. Pat contracted Polio when he was a sophomore at Bartlett High. The illness ended his athletic career but in order to take part, he was named Football manager to enable his team to the best of his ability. Pat also turned his interest to civic duties, he helped organize and was voted the first president of the Council of Teenage Civic Clubs of Memphis and Shelby County.  To help mold young people into becoming productive citizens, he worked on a volunteer basis as a youth probation officer and worked with youth Sunday school and church groups, cub scouts and boy scouts. He also volunteered at the cripple children's hospital. He was a Baptist by faith and tried to live his life accordingly.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Doris Alston; three brothers, Crawford, Bob, and Ted; and one sister, Faye.

Pat is survived by Doris, his loving wife of 66 years; a son, Roger (Penny); and a daughter, Renee (Kevin); three grandsons, Taylor Harris, Neal Alston, and Zeb Marvin.
