Patricia Sue Barnes Gary
Born March 4, 1930, to Jake and Osella Barnes in Water Valley, KY. Graduated from high school in Hopkinsville, KY. Married Robert C. Gary III (Bob) and attended Eastern Kentucky State College in Richmond, KY. Moved from Ft. Worth, TX, to Memphis in 1968. She was an active member of Bartlett United Methodist Church where she served in many areas of church activity. She was the church''s first wedding coordinator and served in that position for more than 25 years. As a resident at Lutheran Village in Memphis, Pat enjoyed serving on the Grounds Committee and was frequently seen puttering in the flower gardens there. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother. She is survived by her four children, Becki (Ken) Garvey of Medina, OH; Clif (Karon) Gary of Weatherford, TX; Rodney Gary of Tucker, GA; and Jack (Joyce) Gary of Keller, TX; and one grandson, Joshua Gary of Bossier City, LA. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in Pat''s memory may be made to The Grounds Committee at Lutheran Village, 3589 Covington Pike, Memphis 38128; The Building Fund at Bartlett United Methodist Church, 5676 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN; Foxbridge Assisted Living, 2180 Mangum Rd., Memphis, 38138; Crossroads Hospice, 1669 Shelby Oaks Dr., Memphis, TN; or to the Activities Department at Mid South Health & Rehab, 2380 James Rd., Memphis 38127. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, December 13 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home.
