Patricia
Maxwell
April 18, 1938 – August 5, 2023
Patricia Maxwell, a lifelong Memphian, passed away at 1:00PM Saturday August 5th, 2023, at Baptist East Hospital after a short, hard-fought battle with an illness. Pat was married to the deceased William (Bill) Gray Maxwell for over fifty years. She was the loving mother of three surviving children Whitney Carroll Maxwell Morrison (Charlie) of Collierville, Jefferson Gray Maxwell (Shannon) of Eads,
and Douglas Parker Maxwell of Cordova. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Maxwell; her parents, James Carroll Parker and Patti Beard Parker Jones; and her sister, Diane Ray.
Pat grew up on Tutwiler Street in midtown Memphis with her mother and Aunt and four female cousins. Ms. Pat, as some people called her, had six grandkids and 11 great grandkids, and as had been typical throughout her life, someone was always living with her or at times she would move to a cousin's house while relatives lived at her house.
Pat loved bible study and being in groups like quilting group from Germantown Baptist and a prayer warriors' group that prays continuously. She was also in a widow's group that supported these ladies through thick and thin.
Pat and Bill Maxwell as kids were members of Speedway Terrace Baptist church at 601 N. Bellevue and still attended church in that same building, now known as Community Bible Church. In lieu of flowers she would like memorial donations to go to Community Bible Church at 601 N Bellevue Blvd. Memphis TN. 38107.
