Pat Pearson, born Maggie Patricia Pearson was born May 11, 1935 in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn N Y . Pat passed away Feb. 21, 2020. She was the second child born to Minnie And James Pearson. She and her older sister Ruby were sent to live with their grand parents at a very early age. They grew up on their grandfathers farm with their cousins, Great grandfather, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Near the end of W orld W ar II they returned to live with their parents and younger brothers and sisters in New York. Pat attended PS 44, Stephen Decatur JHS 35 In Brooklyn and Franklin K Lane HS, in Jamaica NY. Pat suffered rheumatic fever as a child, it was serious and we were so afraid, she lost that year in school, but through God's goodness and mercy, she was not taken from us at that time. She came back and finished her schooling. Her sisters and Brothers, except one, pr e ceeded her in death. She leaves her Sister Ruby Pearson , Niece Dia Nichols, Nephews Mark Pearson, Wesley Thompson, and Mahammed Nichols, great N ie ces and Nephews, cousins and friends, to mourn her loss. Pat married Herbert Brathwaite at First A M E Zion Church. It was a good and happy marriage for the two of them. The marriage ended in divorce several years later, but they remained friends to this day. Pat worked for several companies before going to work for International Paper. She liked her work there and made friends with many of her co workers . International Paper wanted to relocate to T N and wanted to bring the New York Employees with them. Pat accepted their offer and moved to Cordova Tn. She adjusted well and spent the rest of her working life with I nternational P aper. Pat was always a spiritual person, and along with family members attended First A M E Zion Church in Brooklyn.

She was curious about different forms of worship and religion and she did seek knowledge in these areas. She wanted to find a church an d would not rest until she found the right one , which ended up being  Hope Church. There she found a host of friends, she loved her Sunday School Studies in the Classic Sunday School Class which ended up becoming her family. Pat loved them all and in return they all loved her back. These friends and others would be there with her for the rest of her life. Pat was an outgoing, positive, friendly, beautiful person and shared God's love everywhere she went. After several years she decided to change her Church to one closer to her home which was Advent Presbyterian Church, which she attended until her health would not allow. I can not yet express the loss, the hurt, the sadness that envelopes the person that I am. T hank you, Pat Anderson, Max Miller, Ken Weltlich, for all you do and have done . I love you with no reserva t ions, Thank you Gena Ayala, Betty Lucado, Nancy Morency, Linda Hatchett, P atty and Ralph Tidwell, Pete and Norma Bennett, (George and Martha Schweizer and Barbara Clark also who are now deceased) and many others, too many to mention for the kindness and help you gave to my sister Pat.
