Patsy Jane Roach passed away peacefully Sunday morning August 20, 2023, at Gardens of Germantown. She was a lifelong resident of Bartlett TN. Patsy was preceded in death by her Husband Garnett Max Roach, her sister - Malvena Johnson, Burch, Mother - Attis Pruitt, Shepherd, and Father - Grant Johnson.
Patsy is Survived by Brother- Ralph (Louise) Johnson of Holly Springs NC, brother Tim Shepherd of Roaring River , NC. Survived by her children: Max (Susan) Roach of Covington TN, Mike (Beth) Roach of Hernando MS, Laura (Joseph) Greenwell of Hernando, MS, Rodney (Karen) Roach of Carrollton TX. Survived by her grandchildren: Jerrod (Kassandra) Roach, Katie Roach, Andy (Darby) Roach, Jon Raburn , Ashton (Lee) Elander, Matthew Roach, Lauren (Adam) Pulley, Payton Reynolds, Marli Reynolds, Kelsey (Jon) Kelly, Kyle Roach, Caleb (Taylor) Ranstrom and 10 Great Grandchildren
Patsy was born in Wilkes County, NC 3/13/1940, where she lived until her sophomore year of high school at East High in Ronda, NC when she moved to Memphis TN and graduated from Kingsbury High School. During Patsy's senior year of School, she met Garnett Roach and the two were married February 27, 1959.
She enjoyed her family, friends, and neighbors in Bartlett, TN where she and Garnett lived with their 4 children since December 1965. Patsy was a faithful member at Whitten Memorial Baptist Church where she took great joy in teaching a Sunday School class, serving others by visiting members who were homebound, participating in foreign mission trips, and sharing her faith by encouraging others.
Patsy was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Grand-Grand, as well as a loyal friend. She was a hard worker who took immense pride in her career with Holiday Inn and later with Wal-Mart where she retired. Other interest and hobbies Patsy enjoyed in life were bowling, playing softball, and staying physically fit by walking. But Patsy's greatest joy in life was her faith and selflessly caring for her family.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Hill East 2440 Whitten Rd Memphis, TN 38134 Viewing at 9:00 am to 10:00am. Services at 10:00 am with graveside to follow.
