Peggy Joann Greene, age 84, passed away on December 21, 2024 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sheree (Robert) Barden and Katherine Donahoe; one son, Dwight (Laura) Greene; two brothers, Grady Hutchens and Claude Hutchens; six grandchildren, Brandon Stanphill, Thomas Stanley, Hunter Greene, Christian (Sydnie) Greene, Justin Smith, and Leah Donahoe; four great grandchildren, Kayleigh Stanphill, Parker Stanphill, Peyton Stanphill, and Autumn Stanley; and one great-great grandchild, Asher Downing.

She was predeceased by her parents, Irvin and Annie Hutchens; two sisters, Rose Lake and Glenda Edmonds; and two brothers, Donnie Hutchens and Mack Hutchens.

Peggy is known to be a simple, sweet woman. She loved everyone and enjoyed the simplest pleasures of life. Peggy spent quality time at the library, doing what she enjoyed - reading books, crossword and seek-a-word puzzles. She also enjoyed cross knitting. Although it may be hard to believe, she enjoyed just as much giving her children a hard time! Peggy was married to QVC shopping, but mostly valued the precious time spent with her family.

Services will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home-East on Friday, December 27, 2024, visitation will be 1:00-2:00pm with the funeral service to start at 2:00pm. The committal will follow at the cemetery on property of Forest Hill Memorial Park - East.
