Peggy Burk Grotewiel went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2017. She was at home surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church in Millington TN. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord first and her family second. She was born on August 8, 1929 to Edward Isaac Burk and Betty Jordan Burk in Clarksdale, MS. Mrs. Grotewiel was a homemaker until the youngest of her 4 children started to school. At the age of 45 she went to school and received her cosmetology license. She continued to work as a beautician for 25 years. She also loved to cook southern food. On any given night, you might find her cooking dinner for her grown children and maybe a couple of neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence William Grotewiel Jr. She is survived by her 4 children - Sharron Gail Grotewiel, Clarence William Grotewiel, III (Zerry), Terri Grotewiel Campbell (Doug), and Marshall Hale Grotewiel, 9 grandchildren - Bridgett (Drew), Jennifer (Jon), Tiffany(Brian), Ashley, Clarence William IV (Lauren), Kerry, Meagan (Bobby), Aaron, Haley and 15 great grandchildren - Maverick, Mason, Tyler, Skyler, Faith, Elijah, Landon, Blake, Alissa, Bralon, Destiny, Avery, Thorn, Trey, and Oliver. The Lord blessed her by allowing her to meet the 3 newborns - Oliver, Thorn, and Avery in the last few days few before she passed. She was an adventurous woman who loved going and doing everything with her grandchildren from riding on four wheelers to water tubing in her late 70''s.
She was deeply loved and will be missed, but she will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 9 at Crosspointe Baptist Church and service 11 a.m. Monday, April 10 at the church. Private interment will be in Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East.
