On June 25, 1943, Peggy Louise Grammer was born in Stanton, Tennessee. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Peggy’s life was defined by love, and unwavering devotion to her family. Peggy gained her angel wings on May 30,2026, when she passed away peacefully in her sleep at Keep You Company Care Home in Bartlett, Tennessee.
Peggy attended Olive Branch High School, where she met her future husband, James Larry Hamilton. Peggy retired from United Inns, Inc., where she worked as a data processing and computer programmer.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Larry Hamilton, a son, Larry Duane Hamilton (Andrea), a daughter, Jamie Hamilton Leasure, and 4 grandchildren: Justin Leasure, Lee Leasure, Lauren Hamilton Maxey (Peyton) and Zachary Hamilton (Kaylen). She also had two great-grandchildren, Mason Leasure and Selene Hamilton. Included in this family are bonus daughter, Tammy Hamilton and bonus grand-daughter, Cynthia Leasure, who she held close to her heart.
Preceding her in death were parents, James Milton Grammer and Alice Elizabeth Bowie. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Charles Milton Grammer, Harold Gene Grammer, Rhea Lewis Grammer, Mary Joan “Anne” Oliver, Billy Jim Grammer, Elizabeth Janelle Smith, Robert Wesley “Ben” Grammer, and Don Ford Grammer.
She leaves a brother-in-law, Dennis Hamilton and two sisters-in-law, Judy Grammer and Terri Hamilton. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and her unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
To celebrate her life, we will be gathering for visitation at Forest Hill East at noon (family), 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (family and friends).
