Peggy Elizabeth Brooks Hart, 97, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on May 7, 2022. Peggy was born Eda Elizabeth Brooks on April 1, 1925, to Fannie Caroline Brooks and Arthur Lawrence (A.L. " Lonnie " ) Brooks in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Fannie Lorene James (Sonny) and Aline Martina Clayton (Mike).

She loved her morning coffee and the beauty of hummingbirds, but loved her family even more. Her love for her family lives on through two daughters, Deborah Hart-Curtis and Karen Denise Laster (Vernon), four grandchildren, Erika Bradshaw (Mike), Britney Laster, Jordan Curtis, and Morgan Curtis, and one great grandchild, Kale Bradshaw.

Peggy retired in 1983 from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Memphis, TN, at the age of 58, but soon realized retirement was not for her. Ever the example of a strong work ethic, Peggy began a new career at Federal Express in Memphis, TN, in 1984, working another twenty-two years, retiring at the age of 80 in 2006.

Go now in peace. Our family will miss you and all the times we shared laughing, particularly those only funny to us, that often ended in uncontrollable, hysterical tears. We will carry on as best we can without you.

A small service was held May 16, 2022, at Forest Hill Cemetery on Whitten Road and burial at Forest Hill Cemetery South, Holmes Road.
