Peggy West Horton, age 100, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on November 3, 2025.

She was born in rural Union County, Mississippi on January 30, 1925, to the late Leander Roy West and Martha Annie Goudelock.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Tammy Sievers (Larry), three grandsons John Craig(Dana), Philip Craig(Cedar) and Houston Sievers(Harley). One great grandson Waylon Sievers and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her so. One special great grand niece, Hannah Scott, who always made her giggle and smile.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James W Horton or as she called him "Jimmy", two brothers John West and James West, two sisters Mary Ellen Hogue and Edith Galloway.

Peggy and James were faithful members of Highland Heights Baptist Church for 49 years and she was a member of Leawood Baptist Church when she passed. She was a long time employee of Sears.

She was a kind and generous person who loved her family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Peggy's funeral will be Monday, November 10, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m.
