Obituary

Phillip Edward "Ed" Wilson, Jr., 90, of Memphis, TN passed away November 22, 2015 after a long illness. Ed was born September 2, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Agnes Lagow Wilson and Phillip Edward Wilson, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Starkey Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Marie Wilson, brother, Charles Wilson, two sons, Scott Wilson and Jon Wilson (Bobbie), a daughter Karen Stovall (Gary) and two grandchildren, Ryan and Sarah Wilson. Ed was a World War II, U.S. Navy Veteran who was trained as a PBY aircraft Radio Operator/Radar Jammer for the impending invasion of mainland Japan. Fortunately, the war ended before the invasion was necessary. After the war Ed enjoyed a long career with various railroads, ending at Union Pacific Railroad where he worked in the Sales and Marketing Division. He and his family lived in several states during his railroad employment and settled in the Memphis area before the conclusion of his career. There will be a visitation for family and friends of Ed at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, on Saturday, November 28th from 1 to 3 p.m.
