Rayford Earl Smith, Sr. was born on September 7, 1928 in Pickens County, AL, and passed away on November 13, 2015 in Hernando, MS at the age of 87. Rayford attended Palmetto High in Alabama. He was a member of the Army National Guard, and a Mason for more than 50 years. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Maude SmithÍ daughter, Brenda LittlejohnÍ son Rayford E. Smith, Jr.Í and by eight siblings. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jeff Littlejohn (Staci), Stacey Gay (John), Amy Herbison (Jeff), Jeremy Littlejohn, Christy Morgan and Rayford E. Smith IIIÍ great grandchildren, Katelyn Gay, Kyle Gay, Amber Patterson, Jeffrey Littlejohn, Tyler Herbison, Ethan Herbison, Drew Herbison, Shelley Hudson, Kasey Hudson and Seth MorganÍ great great-grandson, Leo GrutaÍ sister, Pearl AdamsÍ and by two brothers, Preston and Max Smith. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 from 5-7pm with funeral services to be held on Monday, Nov. 16 at 2:00pm, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2440 Whitten Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
