James W. Gatlin passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the age of 83. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was a wonderful husband to Joan; a great dad to Chris (Jackie) and the proud PopPop to Ashley (Cole) Lawrence, Courtney (Lincoln) Riddle and Trey Gatlin. He leaves his sister Barbara Gilchrist and nephew Kevin (Bridget) Johnson. Also,his sister-in-law Vicki Looney and nephews Jeff (Kari) Looney, Matthew (Olivia) Looney and niece Katie (Keith) Plourd and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan (1982)

Jim was a pastor for over 50 years. He truly cared for people and was very concerned that they know Christ and Savior. His life verse was Matthew 6:33.

He will be buried at Forest Hill Funeral Home on Whitten in Memphis, TN Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Visitation is at 1 pm and the service at 2 pm.

Lighthouse Baptist Church, Jackson, GA or

Goodman Road Baptist Church, Horn Lake, MS
