Obituary

Richard Lee Kornrumpf, age 82, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Rainbow Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Bartlett, TN. He was born on July 18, 1937, in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Butler High School, Butler, PA. He retired after 26 years of service to the United States Air Force where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He served overseas in Korea and Iceland during the Vietnam War and spent many years in England in Logistics and Search and Rescue during the Cold War. He also worked as a Logistics and Supply Specialist for the Department of the Army and retired after 16 years as a Federal Employee in 2000. Beloved husband of the late Julia Seymour Kornrumpf, Richard is survived by his son, Chance Lee Kornrumpf, Daughter-in-law, Deborah Allyson Kornrumpf, and Grandchildren: Mallory Louise Rasmussen, Brandon Malcom Rasmussen, Ian William Rasmussen, Ellis Richard Rasmussen, Liam James Kornrumpf, Kellen Lee Kornrumpf and Great Grand-daughter Sawyer Jane Rasmussen. He is also survived by his daughter, Faith Leah Stone, Son-in-law, Ernest Russell Stone, Grandson Joshua Allen Stone, and Great Grandchildren Makai Robert Stone and Myah Rebecca Leigh Stone. Richard was a devoted father, avid horseshoe thrower, and friend of Helen Lloyd. He was also an avid baseball fan, loved bowling and watching all sports in general, double solitaire, cribbage and pinochle player and loved the state of Florida where he will rest in peace with Julia near Vero Beach.
