Richard Clem Moore, 80, of Memphis, TN passed away to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

He was born April 14, 1941 in Risco, Mo to Clem and Dortha Lee Bradfield Moore.  He grew up farming with his family and was the class of 1959 valedictorian at Risco High School.  He later attended Freed-Hardeman University and Southeast Missouri State University and received a bachelor's degree in agriculture and business.  He worked as a chemist for Velsicol and later for PMC in Memphis, TN.

Richard was a loving, generous, Christian example who loved the Lord.  He loved working on cars, working around the house and helping anyone who was in need.  He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart.

In 1964, he married his sweetheart, Clara Jean Lay, a marriage that lovingly lasted 57 years.

Richard was a long-time member of Raleigh Church of Christ and later Macon Road Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandchild, Harrison Dean Moore.

He is survived by his loving wife, Clara, a brother, Donald (Carolyn) Moore, and 3 children, Robert Moore, Sherry Morgan and Angela (Sohn) Lyons.  He leaves nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who affectionately call him "Poppy".  He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.
