Richard Worton, 86, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on May 8, 1938, to parents Alfred and Dowdy Worton. Richard worked as an asphalt contractor, and he did that for as long as anyone could remember. He married Linda Blackburn, and he would always say that he had always loved her from the moment they met. Richard is preceded in death by both his parents, as well as his siblings. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Linda Worton, his daughter Dowdy Roberson (Terry), three step-daughters, Teresa Baker (Greg), Tina Birdsong, and Patty Little, three step-sons, Floyd Bruce (Linda), John Davis (Karen), and Robert Bruce (Shelly), his grandchildren, Brent, Trey, and Matt Baker (Anna), Austin, Dylan, Haley (Jay), and Josh (Rebecca) as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Some of Richards interests included dog and horse races, fishing, and dancing. He loved driving and getting out of the house, he loved to play poker, and he was always the life of the party! Richard will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss him more than words can express.
