Richard Arlen Wright , loving husband, father, and grandfather born July 4, 1944 in Memphis, TN w ent home to meet his Lord and Savior June 16, 2021 after many months of a hard fought battle with multiple health issues.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John 'Jack' W. and Martha Lou Wright.

Richard graduated from Messick High School in M emphis and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from St. Louis Institute of Music, and received an Associate of Applied Science in Telecommunication Engineering from State Technical Institute of Memphis.

He was employed for 35 years as a Computer Specialist with Nationwide Insurance in Memphis.  During those years and following to present he was also Choir Director at Rosemark Reformed Presbyterian Church, Organist at Merton Avenue Baptist Church, Organist at Union Avenue Baptist Church, and taught multiple instruments at several Academies in the Memphis area. He was also given the honor to play the wurlitzer at the Orpheum Theatre for special occasions and events. He shared his musical talents at Ridgeway Baptist and other local churches and venues over the years.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Dee Crick, son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Joyce, grandchildren, Elaina and Seth Wright, goddaughter, Nikki McLemore Simmons and many loved family members.

Graveside internment will be at Forest Hill - Midtown at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 26, 2021, Forest Hill Cemetery - Midtown 1661 South Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, TN 38106.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 11:30 AM at Union Avenue Baptist Church, 2181 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Union Avenue Baptist Church, 2181 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104
