Robert "Bob" Ammons, Jr., 90, of Memphis, TN, went to be with the Lord September 10, 2015. He was an athlete, retired educator from Shelby County Schools and an avid fan of Memphis Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. Mr. Ammons served in the US Navy and was a member of Central Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Ammons is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice Ammons; son and daughter in law, Steve and Debbie; daughter, Teresa Ammons Hagel; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Julie), Melanie, Keri (Todd); and four great grandchildren, Madi, Reed, Courtney and Carter. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, September 14 and funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 15 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
