Robert Alexander "Eckie" Stark, 83, a long time resident of Whitehaven, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2014. The youngest of six children, his family farmed in the Whitehaven area from the 1930's until the early 1950's. A devoted husband and father, he was preceded in death by Lois, his wife of 45 years. He is survived by three children, Pamela Ritchie (Tony), Memphis; Bobby (Mary), Dallas, TX; Rusty, Ashville, AL; two grandchildren, Emily Houston (David), Denver, CO and Randy Stark, Ashville, AL. He was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church; a 1948 graduate of Whitehaven High School; and retired as a switchman with BellSouth. He retired also from the TN Air National Guard, 164th Air Wing, as a Master Sergeant, with active service during Korea and Vietnam. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the LaBelle Haven Baptist Church Building Fund or any Christian Ministry of the donor's choice. Visitation will be 12-2 pm, Thursday, followed by services at 2 pm, both at Forest Hill Funeral Home-Midtown.
