Robert E. Guess, Sr. died July 23, 2021 in Memphis, TN at the age of 91. He is survived by his children; Judy Guess-Carter, (Keith) Robert Guess Jr., Eddie Guess, Terry Guess (Pam); one granddaugther, Kristen Carter-Merritt; and two grandsons; Dustin Grant and Taylor Guess. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward Guess and Billie Rogers Guess, his wife Dorothy Matlock Guess, and son, Kerry Guess. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret Kaleta of Cordova, TN.

Robert was born on September 6, 1929 in Buntyn, TN (Memphis, TN). He attended Catholic High school for Boys and Humes High School. Robert joined the Merchant Marines at 15 and the United States Navy after school. He retired from the Navy after 22 years with a rank of Navy Lieutenant. He worked for Memphis City Schools and Lowenstein's and Baptist Hospital. He was also a member of the Oakhaven Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Robert E. Guess wishes donations to be sent to; The Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Methodist Alliance Hospice.
