Robert Neil Shettlesworth, 81, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024.

Robert is survived by Sharon Shettlesworth of Memphis, Tennessee. One daughter, Robin Hargrove of Bartlett, Tennessee and two grandchildren, Jacob Hargrove and Stephen Hargrove.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Frances Shettlesworth. Brother, Charles Shettlesworth of Bartlett, Tennessee and one grandson, Robert Nusbaum Hargrove.

Robert was an extremely talented artist, athlete, musician, and so much more. In his early life, he was a Vietnam veteran and was a part of the elite 101st Airborne Division. In the Army he also was a dog handler. He was a marathon runner and triathlete. He earned two master's degrees and a PhD in graphic design. In his commercial art career, he worked for Holiday Inn and Fed Ex. He also taught art classes throughout his career and even taught in Russia at one point.  He had a great love of restoring and rebuilding antique cars. His sense of humor and cheerful disposition made him a friend to all he met.  He entered his Heavenly home after a battle with Alzheimer's.

He will forever be in our hearts and will be dearly missed.
