Obituary

Robert Harrell Stavely, born in 1939, passed away May 24, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Remembered as a kind, loyal man , he married his highschool sweetheart Anne Stavely (née Leach) and had two children and three grandchildren. He is survived by his son Rusty Stavely, granddaughter Taylor Christine Stavely, granddaughter Michael Legenthal (Dan), grandson Josh Legett(Megan), son in law Ben Legett, brother-in-law Buddy Leach, and brother-in-law Jack Leach. He is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife Anne Leach Stavely, daughter Robin Stavely Legett, sister Joyce Mueller (Howard), parents Mary Stewart Stavely and Robert Talmadge Stavely, mother-in-law Christine Chapman Leach, and father-in-law William Leach.
Robert, known to those who loved him as 'Bob', studied at the University of Tennessee at Martin and became an early computer programmer at First Tennessee Bank in Memphis in the 1960's. While he later went on to own and run his own computer forms and supplies company, he was best known for his love of boating with friends and family and fishing on the river. He also loved music, from gospel and jazz to classic country. Those who wish to celebrate his life are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, June 1 st at 2pm at the Forrest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens East, 2440 Whitten Rd in Memphis. There will be a short visitation before the  service.
