Robert Lee
Terrell, Sr.
Mar 19, 1924 — Jul 20, 2021
Robert "Bobby" Lee Terrell, 97, of Somerville, TN went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was loved by all who knew him. He served his fellow man and family. He was there anytime he was needed whether he was asked or not.
Bobby retired from Memphis Light Gas and Water (gas division) after 25 years of service. He also taught welding at Kansas Vo Tech and was a former employee of Firestone.
Mr. Terrell as a young man worked alongside his twin brother to help construct the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge connecting Memphis to West Memphis, AR. He designed and built campers for pickup trucks, wrought iron lawn furniture and his favorite was BBQ grills. He loved to BBQ and loved to have his family come together every year on the 4 th of July to celebrate this country that he loved so much.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Bessie Mae Moore Terrell; his son, William Walter Traub; his father, William A. Terrell and his mother, Estelle Logue Williams; his sister, Margaret Terrell Batte and his twin brother, William L. Terrell; also two grandsons, one niece and two nephews.
Bobby leaves behind his sons, Kenneth Durrell Wright (Gloria) of Munford, TN and Robert Lee Terrell, Jr. (Jannie) of Somerville, TN; 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces, 3 nephews and a multitude of great nieces and nephews.
The world lost a powerful voice in the quiet man of God. A bright light has gone dim. We all can be blessed to know that we have this amazing guarding angel watching over us.
