IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Harrell
White
March 2, 1937 – August 1, 2025
Robert White of Southaven MS, a man known for his tireless work ethic, generous spirit, and love for people, passed away August 1, 2025 at the age of 88.
Robert was born March 2, 1937 to Emmit Monroe White and Ona Mai Dunavant White in Lauderdale County, TN on his family farm. One of eight
children, Robert grew up with a strong foundation rooted in faith, family, and hard work—values instilled in him by his parents at an early age. Robert was a proud Ripley Tiger. He began his journey working on the family farm, where he developed a deep appreciation for dedication and responsibility.
Robert served honorably in the United States National Guard for seven years. His sense of duty and service extended beyond the military, finding its way into every chapter of his life.
An avid fisherman and natural people-person, Robert combined these passions to open Southaven Bait Shop. He later went on to build a successful career in the grocery service industry, where he found fulfillment in helping others and forming lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike.
Never one to sit still, Robert also ran a landscaping business in his spare time and eventually took on another role at a local car wash. Whether mowing lawns or meeting new faces at work, he found purpose and joy in staying active and connected to others.
Robert was a lifelong fan of the Tennessee Titans and Memphis Tigers. After a full day's work, he could be found relaxing in his recliner, enjoying a football game, classic westerns, or a good episode of Wheel of Fortune.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, contagious smile, kind heart, and the countless lives he touched through his warmth, jokes, and
service.
Robert was proceeded in death by his parents Emmit and Ona Mae, siblings, Buton White, Marie Furr, E.M White, Joe White, Carolyn Scarberry, Son in law Bo Bieber, grandchildren Cody Bieber and Kimberly Emerson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce White, his children Anita Bieber, Thomas White, Gary Emerson (Kristy), Shelly Emerson, grandchildren Brittany Schully (Robert), Kristy Corzine(Jamie), Alexis Golem (Zach), Dakoto Emerson (Chelsie), Noah Emerson, Chloe Henry, Danyelle Wise (Harry) and great grandchildren Bo Schully, Payton Schully, Sadie Virgina Corzine, Barrett Corzine, Bauman Corzine, Hannah Rose, Haley Wize, Jace Golem, Norah Golem and sisters Ginny Frisbie, Dorthy Hundley (Donald) and Faye Brayden.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12 from 5-7 and Memorial services will be on Wednesday, August 13 at 10 AM at Forest Hill Funeral Home East.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Robert's memory to St. Jude or the Kidney Foundation.
