Roberta Hutchings Stricker, 74, of Memphis, TN, passed away on June 21, 2026.

As a life-long Memphian, Roberta graduated from East High School and went on to graduate from Memphis State University. In between high school and college, a young Marine named Jim tripped her up at the skating rink, just so he could pick her up. It was love ever since. With her family always in mind, she became extremely active in PTA, making sure the schools were always best for her kids. For years, Jim and Roberta held season tickets to the Memphis Tigers football, where they would host tailgate parties for all the friends and family. Some of the most memorable parts of life with Roberta came from her ability to focus on the small things to make big events better. Whether it was tailgates, birthdays, school events, etc. you knew that if Roberta was involved, it was going to be taken care of. Life began again for her once she became a grandmother. For every game, recital, musical, program, we knew Memaw would be there with a treat or flowers.

Roberta was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim, her mother and father Josephine and Orrin, her brother Herbert, and sister Linda. She is survived by her two sons Billy and Alex (Hannah); sister Patricia “Patsy”, Brother-In-Law Jon Stricker (Barbara), Sister-In-Law Mary Lou Stricker; 4 beautiful grandchildren – Kane (Mary), Jocelyn, Benjamin, and Dominic; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 1pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home – Midtown on Saturday June 27, 2026 with a service to follow at 2pm. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
