Ronald James McDonald, Bartlett, TN, was born in Memphis, TN on January 24, 1944 and passed in Memphis, TN on February 24, 2016 at the age of 72 years. Ronald retired from Swift Transportation after 34 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Andrew Sr. and Elzora Barnett McDonald; daughter, Rhonda Jeanette McDonald; brother, William McDonald; and sister, Joyce Carol Penna. Mr. McDonald is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Carolyn McDonald; daughter, Angie McDonald Jade (Thomas); two grandchildren, Lauren and Christopher Jade; two brothers, Roy McDonald (Vickie) and Harold McDonald and (Rhonda); and by his nephew, Mark Penna (Raelynn) whom he loved as a son. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 12-2 PM with funeral services to immediately follow at 2:00 PM, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
