Ronald Maurice
Moody
Jul 20, 1950 — Aug 10, 2019
Como (Harmontown)
Ronald Maurice Moody, 69, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019, at his home in Harmontown, Lafayette County, Mississippi. Ronnie was a widower for almost 2 years, as his wife Deborah passed in December of 2017. Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Christy Callahan, and son-in-law, Jason Borden of Galveston, TX; his son Maurice Moody; two sisters, Patricia Brewer and Linda Ivy; two grandchildren, Carolyn Puckett, and Christopher Callahan. Ronnie was preceded in death by both of his parents, and by his brother, Ted Moody. Ronnie spent his working life as a Professional Auto Mechanic of many years, finally retiring from Bluff City Nissan in Memphis. Prior to retirement, Ronnie spent is his life as a hardworking family man who loved his Mother and his Wife in a way that could be considered remarkable. His honesty was another characteristic that could be considered remarkable, along with his lifelong work ethic. He was a hardworking, honest, kind, wise, simple, loving man who will be missed by all who knew him. Ronnie was an accomplished Bass Tournament fisherman for many years. He loved his animals, horses, dogs and the deer on his property, and really just all animals. He loved to live free and very intentionally made sure that he and Deborah got to do just that by purchasing their wild and purposely fully owned property in Lafayette County over 20 years ago. He was a good steward of that land, the wildlife in his woods, and the horses, dogs, and cats that he spent his days with along with Deborah for many years, and in the short time since her passing. Ronald Moody was one of the very few people like him that remain in these modern times. He was genuinely unique and was an individual as they come. He will be dearly missed, and fondly remembered. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, 2019, at 10:00 am, at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park-Midtown. Interment will follow at Forest Hill South Cemetery
