Ron was born in Perryville Arkansas. He was the youngest of four, two brothers and one sister. He graduated High School from Perryville High School class of 1961.
Ron joined the military after High School and trained to be a medic spending time with the Coast Guard, Army and Navy before retiring in 1994. He enjoyed traveling and the various assignments while he was active. He was passionate about helping the sick. He enjoyed roles as an instructor, a recruiter, a corpsman with the Marines, administrative specialist and preventive medicine. Ron was always quick with a military anecdote for all occasions.
After retiring from the Navy Ron began a second career with Shelby County using his skills from the military. Assisting those with medical needs seemed to be his life's passion.
After completing another tenure in public service, Ron retired to his hobby of woodworking. He enjoyed his projects in his shop. There was always something new to learn and projects to try.
Ron was preceded in death in November 2020 by his wife Emma. He is survived by his two sons, Andrew of central North Carolina and Matthew of west Tennessee. He was grandfather to seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Millington, TN 38053, Service will be on September 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM Graveside with Military Honors with United States Navy will follow after service.
