Roy H. Adams, 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital-Memphis. Roy was born in Batesville, MS. He graduated from Central High School in Memphis. In his younger years, he was a page in the Senate for Albert Gore, Sr. and Estes Kefauver. In 1962 he was a proud graduate of U T Knoxville, and he served in the U.S. Army. Roy as a member of The Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was known for his hosting of Saturday College Football parties for his friends with great food for over 25 years. Roy founded Adams Restaurant with his brother, J.W. Adams and owner of Adams Rentals with his nephew, Johnny Adams. His parents, H.S. and Irene Arnold Adams preceded him in death. He leaves his brother, J. W. Adams (Gloria); nephews, Johnny Adams (Kim) and Todd Adams (Angie); niece, Lee Ann Wallace, also a host of great- nieces and nephews, but most of all his beloved dog, Marley. He also leaves a longtime business partner, Jim Reedy and special friends and caregivers, Al Hollingsworth, Charlie and Rosemary Donaldson, George Harper and Tim Jones. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, July 24 with service starting at 2 p.m. Entombment will be in Forest Hill South Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to SPCA.
