Obituary

Roy Pugh, 77, passed away peacefully at his home, February 8, 2023. Roy was born May 29, 1945, in Luxora, Arkansas, to the parents of James and Ola Pugh. He graduated from Central High School and continued his education at Memphis State University. He worked at PSI: Process Systems Incorporated for many years and served in the United States Army until retiring. Roy loved spending time with his family including his devoted wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and others. He had fond memories playing football at Central High School. He was always a proud Memphis Tigers fan and could often be found watching their basketball games. His dog Rosa was a constant companion late in life. Music brought him great joy, especially when listening to family members perform during Grace Church's streaming service on Sundays. Roy was a true people's person. He never met a stranger, thought the best of everyone, and was incredibly kind and generous to all. His humor and bright spirit will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Roy is survived by his wife of 45 years Vickie Pugh, his children, Tammy McCutchen, Carrie Lewis, Courtney Northcutt, Nathan Pugh, and Cameron Pugh, his 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, as well as his siblings Wanda Crossman, Flora Overstreet, Lora Crawford, Marlene Walls, Arlene Harris, and Gerald Pugh. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Ola Mae Pugh. Roy will be missed dearly, and we will continue to hold his memory in our hearts forever.
