Royce Alvin Box, 72 passed away on August 14, 2017 in Memphis, TN. Royce served in the Marine Corps from 1963-1967. He did two tours in Vietnam. He later retired as a welder for the City of Memphis after 42 years. He enjoyed working hard and getting things done. He was instrumental in recommissioning the Walter K Singleton memorial plaque while being an avid member of the Walter K Singleton Marine Corps Detachment. He was that kind of man and father giving of his time and concern for things and people of importance. An avid hunter and fisherman he shared this love with his 3 sons and a lot of their friends, and grand babies. Royce was predeceased by his brother James Edgar Box and his parents Jesse and Ollie May Box. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie; and their 3 sons Kevin A. (Jennifer); Richard A. (Whitney); and Lance A. (Mallory). He also leaves 6 precious grandchildren Haley, Hannah, Carter, Colton, Avery Ann, and Rhett. He has one sister Doris Martinez (Julius) of Memphis. Royce''s visitation will be on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East. His funeral services will be Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hood Cemetery in Sommerville, TN following.
