Obituary

I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. -2 Timothy 4:7-8

Rubie Molene Anderson fought a good flight throughout her journey that began on May 26, 1939, in Michigan City, MS, when our Heavenly Father entrusted her into the hands of her loving parents the Late Charlie and Elizabeth Smith. Due to their passing while Rubie was young, she was blessed to be raised by her uncle and aunt the late John and Lue White. They trained Rubie and brought her up in the fear of the Lord leading her to confess hope in Christ at an early age at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Michigan City, MS.

She was united in matrimony to George Anderson, Sr., in this union, six children were born. Her beloved sons George Anderson, Jr., and Willie Lee Anderson; and two great grandchildren Renarda Anderson and Courtney Fluker preceded her in death.

Rubie loved to cook, fish, plant vegetable gardens, grow flowers, attend gospel singing group programs, and listen to gospel music on the radio. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. "Her children arise up and call her blessed" (Proverbs 31:28).

Rubie finished her race on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at approximately 11:24 pm at St. Francis Hospital Bartlett when her soul winged and took flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain to a place of eternal rest. There is laid up for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give to her on that day and not to her only, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Rubie leaves her four children whom she loved dearly: Danny Anderson of Byhalia, MS., Shirley Anderson of Memphis, TN., David (Lanette) Anderson of Cleveland, OH., and Ruby (Frank) Dean of Memphis, TN; two stepchildren Kenneth (Carmen) Bratcher Of Memphis, TN and Carmella Bratcher of Arlington, TN., a daughter-in-law Mary Ann Anderson of Collierville, TN.; two brothers-in-law Thomas Anderson and Ben (Phoebe) Anderson of Memphis, TN; two sisters-in-laws Claudia Swift of Evanston, IL and Annie Westbrooks of Memphis, TN.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all to cherish her sweet memories.
