Ruby L. Shields , 89, of Memphis, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital - Memphis.  Mrs. Shields worked all of her adult life in various positions.  She was born in Selmer, TN to the late Carrol and Denna Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred D. Shields, her daughter, Edith Janette Mendoza, sister, Edith Bass and three brothers: Luke, Monroe and Joe Smith.  Ruby leaves a granddaughter, Jacki Flores and grandson, Gary Shields (Amanda), several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces including Marilyn Joyner, and several nephews including Paul Rory, also many other great nieces, nephews and beloved family and friends.  Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 2 pm on Thursday, August 30 at Forest Hill Midtown, 1661 S. Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis 38106.  Service will immediately follow. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery, 2545 E. Holmes Rd., Memphis 38118
