IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby Marshall
Stovall
May 24, 1931 – January 22, 2024
Ruby Marshall Stovall, 92, of Conway, Arkansas, formerly from Germantown, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 22, 2024. She was born near Smithville, Mississippi. She spent her early years picking cotton which is a story her sons heard about often. She was 1 of 9 children of John Phelix Marshall and Ollie Stephens. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1949. She was a devoted member of the Germantown Baptist Church. She was a retiree of South Central Bell/AT&T where she worked for 39 years. She started off as a cashier and retired as a draft-person. The 1st female draft-person in the dept. Quite the accomplishment.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 62 years, and by her grandson Martin Stovall. Ruby is survived by a devoted sister Katherine Liggett of Memphis; she is survived by 3 sons, S. Brad (Janis) Stovall of Nolensville, TN, Mark (Lisa) Stovall of Conway, AR, Alan (Amy) Stovall of Collierville, TN; she's survived by 5 grandsons, Stephen (Chelsey), Brandon (Chelsea), Zack (Cooper), Nick, and Jake; she's survived by 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Harper, Finn, and Harris.
Ruby always had a smile on her face, and her presence would radiate the room. She was a loving, caring, and kind-hearted person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was passionate about supporting her church and St. Jude's. She dearly loved her husband, her kids, her grandkids, her siblings, her family and her friends. And if she could have, she would have enjoyed spoiling the great-grandkids. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held on Feb. 10 at 2pm at Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis, TN. Visitation from 1 -2 before the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
