Born on June 26, 1939, the youngest of 9 children, her beloved parents were John and Nellie Beckham. Her many talents and loves were fishing, gardening, building things out of wood, (she once built a deck!), quilting, and cooking delicious Sunday dinners.

She married David William Buford in 1958, a love and companionship that has lasted for 63 years. She is survived by her husband David, along with 2 sons, Michael (Susie) Buford and Jeffery (Jill) Buford. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Joshua (Jordan) Buford, Nicholas Buford, Meagan Newton (Tim), Christian Buford, and Travis Buford. Ruth also leaves 2 great-grandchildren, Dakota and Brinn-Leigh Newton.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Burl Beckham, Clyde Beckham, Kenny Beckham, Keith Beckham, Arthur "Art" Beckham, and Charles Beckham; sisters Margaret Fairchild, and Shirley Jackson and one grand child, Zachary Buford.

Ruth was Joyful, loving, unselfish, funny, and devoted. She was a member of Macon Road Church of Christ and loved singing Christian hymns. She loved her family dearly and she will be missed every day.
