Born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 7, 1922 and passed away on November 16, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles R. Shapard; and by four sisters. She leaves behind a son, Stephen C. Shapard (Julie); daughter, Leslie Shapard; grandchildren, Alecia and Matthew; and great grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Carson, Ava and Stephen. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bartlett United Methodist Church or to Habitat for Humanity.
