Ruth Crowder Shelly, age 94, passed away on March 13, 2020. Ms. Shelly was born on November 20, 1925, in Memphis, TN. "Grams" as she was lovingly known, was a member of Berclair Baptist Church, caring homemaker and married to Louis B. Shelly for 41 years. She was an avid country music fan and loved line dancing. She considered her friends from the Strand Theater as her family. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Louis B. Shelly; daughter, Barbara Wray (Joseph Wray); brothers Warren Crowder and Cecil Oakley. She is survived by, son Frederick L. Shelly (Elaine); daughter Cecelia A. Williams; Grandchildren, Stephen Lee Shelly, David Brian Shelly, Teresa Ann Burnette (Tim), Joann Leigh Davidson (Kelly), John Louis Wray (Michelle), Jason Keith Williams, Jacob Brian Shelly, Jamison David Shelly, Preston Alan Robertson, Brandon Joseph Robertson (Allison), Dwight Lee Davidson, William Joseph Davidson, Allyson Kate Wray, Cooper Judson Wray, Addison Michelle Robertson, Chirsten Sky Curry, Chaleb Paul Curry. Sisters; Willie Newenham (Ron) of Rock Island, IL, Sarah Chambers of Santa Clarita, CA; Betty Hering of Phoenix, AZ. The family will gather to receive friends Wednesday, March 18, 2020, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.
