Hickory Wythe - RUTH E. "Tina" HOWELL, 68, passed into her heavenly home on May 14, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Tina was born in Memphis and graduated from Central High School. She worked in the medical field for the University of Tennessee and UT Medical Group for many years. Tina was a member of Great Oaks Church of Christ on Brunswick Road. Tina will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual and will truly be missed by her countless friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her mother, Modena Cupples Bain and her father, Ernest Bain. Tina is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Jerry Howell; son, Craig Howell of Memphis; sister, Jo Waldron (Jim) of Houston, TX; nephews, Michael Waldron (Jocie) of Clancy, MT, Jimmy Waldron (Cindy) of LaPlace, LA, Steve Waldron of Rogers, AR, Jerry Waldron (Allison) of Wimberly, TX, Stuart Howell of Jackson, TN, Tony Howell of Millington and niece, Carol Dacus of Millington. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Ramsey (Billy) of Olive Branch, MS and brothers-in-law, Larry Howell of Millington and Pete Howell (Tina) of Jackson, TN. The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Neuman and the innumerable other health care professionals who took such excellent care of Tina over the past 15 years. The family will receive friends, Friday, May 17, 5-7 p.m., and funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18, both at Forest Hill East Funeral Home, with interment to follow.
