Sadie Lucile Powell Busby, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Jewel Powell, her husband, Charles "Chuck" Busby, her son, Wayne Busby, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Busby Landers (Roland) and Mary Busby Blackwell (Steve, who passed away in 2011) both from Bartlett TN, five grandsons Kevin Landers (Kristen) in Birmingham AL, Jeremy Landers (Memphis), Justin Blackwell, Matthew Blackwell (Liz) and Zachary Blackwell, and four great-grandchildren Jeremy Landers Jr ("JJ), Sydney Landers, Sadie Landers and Noah Landers, and a host of nieces and nephews. Sadie was born in Baton Rouge LA, and raised in Palmer Home for Children in Columbus MS. She worked in a candy factory for many years, making peppermint candy. She later started working in Memphis Can Company which is where she met her husband Chuck. Sadie was an active member in her church, Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, and was a strong woman of faith. She loved to pray for her friends and family, and enjoyed making Christian bookmarks to hand out to others. She enjoyed walking around her neighborhood, and walked up to 15 miles in a day. She did taebo and aerobics in her 70''s, and never met a stranger. She loved to talk to people, anywhere and everywhere she went. In her later years, it was hard to slow her down. She also enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and making crafts. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Faith Baptist Church, (3755 N. Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett TN). The family will receive visitors immediately prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. There will be a private burial at Forest Hill East Cemetary.
