Sammie Jan Tanner passed away on August 08, 2023 at the age of 69 in his hometown of Bartlett, TN.

His battle with pancreatic cancer for the past 18 months has shown his courage and strength in accepting the journey God placed before him. Sammie touched many people in not only showing us how to live for the Lord, but also how to die for the Lord.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Bartlett. He loved serving Jesus and spending time with his family. He was an avid fisherman, water skier, fitness enthusiast, and loved to cruise.

Sammie is survived by his faithful wife of 39 years, Renee and a proud father to his one and only son, Josh. His kind spirit and dry sense of humor will be missed by all.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sammie's name to the Memphis Union Missions or Solid Rock International.
