IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Samuel Freeman
Force
October 12, 1937 – January 19, 2024
Samuel Freeman Force 86 Years Young
Freeman of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on January 19, 2024. He went by many names…Sam (work name), Freeman (family name), Pop & Poppie (grandkids name)
Freeman was a man that wore many hats. He was affectionately known as "Pop" and the "Mr. Fix It". This implied many things, especially mechanics. Freeman also served our country in the United States Army with an Honorable discharge. Freeman retired from MLG&W after working for 38 years, 7 months and 23 days (August 1958-April 1997). He also sold real estate for several years. He was a devoted member of Oliver Creek Church of Christ as well as a former elder at Sycamore View Church of Christ. This is where the faithful man of God, that never met a stranger, would literally have to be summoned and pulled from the building after services. Pop always enjoyed eating his fudge brownies and it had to be "Pillsbury" and other sweets. Pop loved camping, traveling, and exploring, riding bikes with his grandkids, going to the park, watching old western shows and all kinds of music, especially country music. He loved his music so much that he wired his entire house for music with the help of Doug and Debra. Traveling was also one of his pleasures with Granny (Joy) and the grandkids in the motor home. The trio of grandparents – Wares, Clarks and Forces would also travel together with or without grandkids and enjoy each other's company. Pop wore a smile and was always cutting up, loved to "tinker" in his garage, but nothing was more satisfying than spending time with his family. Pop had a nickname for everyone!
Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Force; two sisters, Barbara Ann Woolbright and Virginia York; and one son in law, Jim Ware.
Pop leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 65 years, Peggy Joyce Force; one daughter, Robin Renee' Ware; one son, Doug Freeman (Debra) Force; five grandchildren, Jenna (James) Tipton, Jordan (Brandon) Perry, Jillian (Jay) Curington, Kendall Force and Kelsey Force; and five amazing great grandchildren, Ellie, Landon, Caroline, Sloane, and Sutton.
