Sandra was born in Memphis, TN to father, Aldo Contini and mother, Lester Belle Hudson Contini. She worked as a waitress for Coletta's Italian Restaurant, as a merchandiser for Wrigley Company, and as a nurse at Desoto Family Medical Clinic. She leaves behind two sons, a step-son, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and her teacup poodle, Abby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Capps, and her step-son, Alan Capps. Sandra loved Jesus, babies, drag racing, George Strait, and the Memphis Grizzlies, for whom she would have been an excellent coach! She also leaves many beloved friends and relatives with whom she continued to have close relationships. She will be missed by all of them. She passed away after a brief illness on July 16, 2019 while visiting Rahway, NJ. Sandra requested that memorials be sent to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

Funeral services for Sandra Jean Capps will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, with a brief graveside service following at Forest Hill South in Memphis, TN.
