Sara Kay Dowdy was born to Roscoe Hatley and Willie Mae Capps Hatley on February 1, 1936 in Benton County, Tennessee, and passed away on March 17, 2016 at the age of 80. She was a resident of Collierville, TN for 45 years. She was retired from Smith & Nephew Manufacturing after 33 years. Mrs. Dowdy was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Lee Dowdy, Jr.; sister, Willie Wynell Hatley; and son, David Dwayne Dowdy. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Kay Hill of Olive Branch, MS; son, Morgan Lee Dowdy, III of Waddy, KY; sister, Rebecca Franke Diest of St. Petersburg, FL; two brothers, Kenneth Hatley of Camden, TN and Elton Hatley of Camden, TN; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with the memorial service to immediately follow at Collierville United Methodist Church, 104 North Rowlett, Collierville, TN.
