Sarah Barrentine, age 88, resident of Schilling Gardens Assisted Living and former long-time resident of Bartlett, TN , passed away o n August 17, 2021.  Sarah was a homemaker that loved to spend her time reading, singing gospel and country music , and playing her mandolin.  She frequently played her mandolin and sang to the residents of Schilling Gardens , one of her favorite performances being "You are M y Sunshine".

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Floyd Barrentine, her brother, Billy Stone, and leaves behind one sister, Louella McElroy.

Sarah was a wonderful mother to her two daughters , Glenda Vella ( and her husband Joe ) and Lisa Gross ( and her husband Randy ) , both of Collierville, TN. She leaves three grandchildren, Brooke Richmond and ( her husband Justin ) , Cody Gross ( and his wife Ashley ) and Kelsey Gross.  Sarah also leaves a precious great grandson , Owen Gross.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and aides at Schilling Gardens Assisted Living and Avalon Hospice.  A special thank you to Kirk Pafford, Martha White and Tonya Taylor for their love and care for Sarah during her final days.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, August 21 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following. The time of visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Schilling Gardens Assisted Living or Collierville First Baptist Church.
