Sarah Strickland, beloved wife of Todd Strickland, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 27, 1949, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late T.J. and Margaret Witty.

Sarah attended the University of Memphis and later worked for several broker-dealers, including Vining Sparks, where she retired as an assistant vice president. Sarah was a devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them.

Sarah is survived by her children Ashleigh Simpson (Earl) and Jonathan Sowell; grandsons Phoenix and Pierce; brother Thomas Witty (Patty); and nephew Warren.

Sarah's family will always remember her for her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. Her love and devotion to her family were unmatched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service for Sarah will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park East in Memphis, Tennessee, on Tuesday, May 16. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service following at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Sarah's memory to the ASPCA, Wounded Warriors, or the Lauren Witty Peer Enabling Program Endowment, University of Tennessee at Martin.
