Sharon Hammonds was born on July 16, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York to Alberta Stanford and Darwin Wampler. She departed this life on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the age of 64. Sharon grew up in Memphis, TN. Graduated from Overton High in 1970. She met the love of her life, Madison Preston Hammonds, Jr. They were married September 25, 1970 and had a son and daughter. She is survived by her husband, Madison Preston Hammonds, Jr.; her daughter, April Wilson; daughter in law, Kim Hammonds; mother, Alberta Stanford Hammonds; grandchildren, John and Zach Hammonds, Makaylah and Makenzie Sullivan, Karolann Wilson, and Martini Bryeans (Jacob); great grandson, little Jake Hammonds; brother and sister in law, Charles and Tammy Wampler; and many sweet and caring friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Darwin Wampler; her son, Madison Preston "Matt" Hammonds, III; and grandson, Jacob Hammonds. Visitation will be 12 p.m. Thursday, August 4 until service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East with interment following.
